Teaching Philosophy

Teaching has been part of my life for many years and is something that I love to do. It is my goal to equip students with a sense of confidence in their own capabilities so that they can continue thinking critically outside the structure of class. In terms of mentorship, I have advised both incoming graduate students and undergraduate honors students in the Sociology Department at UCLA. I have also trained numerous research assistants and taught research workshops. More broadly, I have mentored students across a variety of departments through my work at the UCLA Undergraduate Research Center for Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences and the Community College to PhD Association.
